I was her first love, and I'm going to be her last....
On
paper, I've got it all - good looks, good friends, a killer business, and
gorgeous women throwing themselves at me from every corner of the globe. But I
still can't get one woman out of my head.
Her.
Adeline Klein, the sexiest little smartass in wire-rimmed glasses and a
polka-dot bikini to ever bring a man to his knees.
God,
she was something....
But
I'm pretty sure she hates me. I've tried to track her down, but it's like she
dropped off the face of the earth. Then one day there she is - stranded on the
side of the road, waiting for rescue, like Fate has arranged for me to be her
knight in shining armor all over again.
Only
she would clearly prefer to kick me in the balls. Or the face. Or maybe the
balls and the face simultaneously. But do I let that keep me from making her
come on the slopes or dampen the fire that flares between us every time we
touch?
No
way. Because some things - like sweet, wounded women with hearts of gold and
souls of pure platinum - are worth fighting for.
Meant for You is a
steamy standalone second chance romance with a swoony HEA.
Story
I was skeptical about this book because someone whose reviews I trust had issues with it. But I got the opportunity to listen to the audiobook which is my preference when I’m on the fence about book so I gave it a chance. From the beginning I really loved this book. Addie and Nate meet as teens when they end up at a hell mouth in New Jersey after reading about it in the same book. From there a summer romance begins. Even though as a listener I only get a glimpse into their summer together as it lasts one chapter, I really felt the connection between Addie and Nate. Nate was willing to change his whole life plan for Addie. Then somethings happen that as a listener, we don't find out the details to until much later. Fast forward seven years and they come back into each other’s lives. Nate is all prepared to pick up where things left off when he sees Addie again but there has been a lot of time and issues between then and now but her is determined to get his second chance with Addie.

I really did
love them as a couple. I felt Nate did still love Addie even after all the years that
have passed. Addie was kind of a shell of her former self in the present but
she had been through a lot over the years. Plus she was with Nate
she was only 16 so the things that happened to her affected her in a different
way because of that. There was a misunderstanding between the two due to
Nate’s current profession and a situation with a lost phone which I thought was kind
of funny. Without spoiling it, I
did like the conflict and resolution of the story. There was a little divine
intervention in this book connecting Nate and Addie together too which I thought was an interesting
plot device.
Narration
I really enjoyed the narration in this book. This was the first book I listened to from either narrator and I think they did a great job. CJ Mission really captured what I imagined as Nate’s voice. Addie’s narrator, Kitty Bang, also did a great job bringing her character to life. Both narrators really expressed the emotions of the story in their narration. I would definitely listen to a book narrated by either of them again.

If given the
choice to read or listen to this book, I would recommend listening. I really
think the narration brought something to the story that may be missed in just
reading it. It was an enjoyable listen and I look forward to more this author
and the narrators.
