Entangled: Crush
Zoey Handler is ready to put an end to her decade-long
rivalry with Gordon Meyers. They’ve traded top spot between valedictorian and
salutatorian for years, but all that’s over now. Right? But after a crazy
graduation speech prank gets out of hand, suddenly their rivalry turns into
all-out war. Time to make peace with a little friendly payback.
Step one? Make him believe they’re now friends.
Step two? Show him the time of his life at an epic
graduation party.
Step three? Don’t fall for his tricks.
Step four? Absolutely, positively, do not kiss him again.
So what if he’s cute? (Okay, hot.) So what if he’s charming?
(Heaven help her, tempting.) So what if he apologizes? (That has to be fake.)
She knows the real Gordon. And no matter how much her heart begs her to stop,
there’s no turning back.
Disclaimer: This
Entangled Teen Crush book contains one epic party, complete with every
high-schoolers-gone-bad shenanigan, and two rivals who discover maybe they
could be something much more…if only they’d stop fighting long enough to notice
it.
Review
If you read the first book in the grad night series Love in the Friend Zone then you know all about Gordon and Zoey. After reading that one, I was so waiting for their story. Gordon and Zoey are the smartest kids in the school. This has also made them competitors. It was always a cordial competitiveness though, until Gordon finds out Zoey went out for the same scholarship as him and won it. He really needed that to go to Stanford and doesn’t understand why Zoey would double cross him when he asked her if she was going for it and she said no. Plus her family has plenty of money so she doesn’t need it. Angry about his stolen scholarship Gordon does something horrible. After the events of graduation day Zoey vows to get Gordon back. Over the course of the night, both realize things aren’t always what they seem and they may have a lot more in common than they thought but can things that were put in motion be righted by the time the night is over?Books like this are why I love contemporary YA romance. It was very realistic and I could feel for the actions of Zoey and Gordon. Teens tend to act first and think about the consequence later which doesn’t usually work out for the best. I felt so bad for Gordon after the conflict in the story. I just didn’t know how it was going to be fixed but I really loved the resolution to their dilemma. It’s so sweet to see two teens fall in love and kind of transition to that next stage of adulthood at the same time. They were a lot more grown up in making things right than some of the heroes and heroines in adult books I have read. I would definitely recommend this book. I hope the next story is about the rocker and the mathlete.
