Review

Can you make a book socially conscious and a love story? Well my answer would be yes because that's what Dylan Allen did with this book. I could tell from the beginning that Reece believed in his activism which was why he was so interested in Lucia's book. Lucia just wanted what everyone who comes to America wants. The chance to live freely and be productive but her immigration status has lead her to live a pretty solitary life. You could see the chemistry between the two of them and the struggle for them to stay apart. I really enjoyed how the romance developed between these two characters. Everything seemed so real and not forced. I also enjoyed the other layers to this story. I love a book where I am really rooting for the characters to be together. This couple had some challenges and I really love how it was all resolved in the end. I recommend this book to everyone who has a heart and a dream.
